Omaha Tribe enters in consent decree with EPA to resolve issues

The Omaha Tribe and the
Environmental Protection Agency have entered into a
consent decree to address health and safety issues on the reservation.
The tribe has agreed to renovate its water treatment plant and water mains,
fix wastewater lagoons and make improvements at a recycling center.
The tribe will be required to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act, and Clean Water Act, according to KTIV-TV.
The agreement came just days after the EPA issued another boil water advisory for Macy, a town on the reservation. At least 11 advisories have been issued in the last three years.
